Phil Ivey losing $ 2 million in the Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and perhaps that attracts more viewers in the U.S.. Last night they played this game with the upset win of the New Orleans Saints against the Indianapolis Colts. What has this to do with poker? The rumors suggest that Phil Ivey would have lost a lot as it had in the betting line as many as two million dollars for the victory of Indianapolis .
Poker players betting large sums on sporting events is nothing new: Gus Hansen lost 1.4 million euros last year’s defeat by Rafael Nadal at the French Open tennis. However, Ivey has no fear to increase their bets growing (last year played only a million in the Super Bowl).
The head of the Mirage casino sports betting Jay Rood , would not go into specifics when questioned about the alleged bet Ivey: “I can only say that we took a bet of seven digits for the Colts” .
