Phil Ivey could not play the Tournament of Champions
In spite of having obtained the highest number of votes to participate in the Tournament of Champions at the WSOP, Phil Ivey could be notably absent from this event, as told Barry Greenstein and Phil Gordon the show ESPN’s “The Inside Deal.”
Greenstein and Gordon agree that the main problem that Ivey is not part of the ToC is the date scheduled, that matches both the beginning and at the end, with official events of the WSOP .

As we all know, Ivey is very focused on winning more titles and it seems that the possibility of being the Champion of Champions not motivated enough to win his ninth bracelet.
