Annie Duke, winner of the National Heads-Up Championship

Annie Duke is back at it again. Since its victory in the Tournament of Champions in 2004, Annie was unable to specify another win, although he had been around in some important events. It appears that his slump is over and that has just won the National Heads-Up Poker Championship by winning the legendary Erik Seidel . Duke has taken the trophy and the $ 500,000 dollars from the top spot .

The final round was played in tournament mode two of three. Annie won the first round and Seidel did the same in the second round . Despite the speed with which the blinds increased, the final round lasted just over an hour. On your way to victory, Annie Duke won, besides Seidel, a Dennis Phillips, Yerri Yang (the surprise of the tournament, reached the semifinals), Paul Wasicka (ex-champ this event), Darvin Moon and Andy Bloch . Erik got his second place by defeating Scotty Nguyen, Peter Eastgate, Chris Moneymaker, David Williams and Huck Seed .

Despite not having obtained the victory, Erik Seidel joins the select band of players to accumulate more than 10 million dollars in live tournament winnings.
