PokerStars crack the record of participation in an online poker tournament, 149,196
PokerStars
has again broken himself in the particular race that is all Full Tilt Poker to get the largest share of history in a poker tournament online. Getting this weekend, taking advantage of Christmas, a share of 149,196 players .
The figure far exceeds the 65,000 that included a maximum date for a tournament $ 1 entry to win oskar69 to be $ 50,000 after only six hours of game. The tournament had levels of turbo structure just five minutes.

Is what is playing in a tournament with 20 times more players than the main event World Series of Poker . You can multiply your initial investment per 1,000 just to get between the top 16. This multiplication is 50,000 if you become the winner.
A real madness indeed. It is now waiting for the response, if any, by Full Tilt Poker . Although the figure does seem insurmountable, and it is already very difficult to collect 150,000 players simultaneously, make them even more to play the same tournament .
Daniel Negreanu said its year 2010 targets
Building the new year Daniel Negreanu in your video blog says, last year in addition to reviewing its future schedule of the World Series of Poker .
Also, in another article in his blog we find ten targets for the 2010 player who currently leads the historical classification of prizes in poker tournaments. Eight ambitious goals, but that surely can fulfill:
- $ 1,000,000 earned in tournaments in 2010
- Stay First in the money list of all time
- Stay First in the WPT money list of all time
- Two WSOP bracelets
- A victory outside the United States (WPT, EPT, LAPT, APPT, etc..)
- Up to the twelfth position in the list of boxes in the WSOP all time

How many of them fulfill the good of Daniel ?

10 best events of the decade in poker. Part Two
Building the new year and decade last week began with a review of the ten events of the decade in poker, thanks to a couple of articles from the boys in Poker News Daily . We stayed in the review at number six, so we’re going today to end the list with the five most important events of the decade.
5. Expanding beyond poker USA
Until the mid-decade, poker, especially tournaments live, were a largely American pastime. With the advent of European Poker Tour in 2004, this changed. The EPT poker led to a new audience and made the poker boom to expand even further.

Not surprisingly, the first memories that many Spanish players have come from poker broadcasts on Eurosport from the first seasons of European Poker Tour .
As of today no longer only have the European Poker Tour , is also the Asia and Pacific Poker Tour, the Latin American Poker Tour, Poker Tour Russian, etc, etc, etc.
4. The biggest challenge to date poker, UIGEA
The steamroller that online poker had become suddenly found himself with a blow in 2006. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) looked like the end of online poker, and somehow it which was a big change.
The Boards’s strongest moment came when a second plane stopped working with Americans, and new giants will soon emerge, with PokerStars to the head.
But not only in online poker will notice the change, including the main event World Series of Poker had missed the past three years the share it had in 2006 with Jamie Gold’s victory.
3. Poker comes to television
A decade earlier was impossible to watch poker on television. The main events of the World Series of Poker 2000 and 2001 were recorded and issued on a documentary on the Discovery Channel. And this was the only poker that could be seen.
All that changed when ESPN decided to do something more like the broadcast of sporting events by acquiring the rights to the WSOP 2002. In 2003 it began issuing previous events as well as increasing the coverage of the main event. And with the booming Moneymaker effect all was shot.
Now, with programs like High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark, the presence of poker is tremendous, even in our country where we can see poker every week, with many celebrities participating in the programs of PokerStars .
2. Establishing the World Poker Tour
Before we talked about the expansion of poker. The creation of the World Poker Tour in 2002 to simulate the international golf circuit was another turning point. The idea was to bring poker to exotic places as well, beyond the typical playgrounds of the United States.
In addition this initially issued by the Travel Channel, which made the short list of high cost tournaments – exotic locations – a television consiguieses exaggerated popularity ratings.
Despite the ups and downs the WPT on today remains one of the three major world tours and made many gamers very famous characters worldwide.
1. The birth of online poker
Has anyone had any doubt what the biggest poker event of the decade?
In 2000 the presence of online poker rooms was almost zero, and practically none were really popular. The creation of more wards and rooms made initially came the realization that you could play poker online.
The improvement of technologies, especially the reliability of the network did the rest. Today the online poker is stronger than ever, there are hundreds of poker rooms and hundreds of thousands of players worldwide.
Without going any further, none of us would be here now if not for online poker. The most important event of the decade poker and would not surprise me that .
Facebook prohibits the advertising of online gambling
Hanging remained with us for Christmas Eve this press release published on 24 Laura Guillot on his blog regarding the prohibition by Facebook on the advertising of online gambling.
This ban applies to bingo, sports betting, casino and poker. It’s a shame that because so far the only advertisement prohibited by the social network world number one was the firearms and snuff.
The motivation of Facebook we can read it on the next point of its advertising rules:
Facebook argues that it has a user base of young people who are easy targets for advertising and online gaming and therefore considers it necessary to mark a boundary .
At least it appears that the pages or groups of fans of poker, sports betting or the like are still allowed, so there is no problem with the Poker Red . But we find it curious that a young user can be a fan of a poker club, and advertising should not see casinos. You can play poker for free on one of the games on the web (even for money) but the poker rooms can not advertise.
A silly example of the double standard ?
Slovakia will have the largest casino in Europe
Slovakia has the largest casino in Europe. It is somewhat surprising to think that either is in Slovakia where they will build the largest casino in Europe, but surely if we tell you that is in a strategic location as the border with Hungary and Austria, can be understood better why Slovakia is [. ..]
Short stack Die, die II. Future by Spainfull
This article is a continuation of “short stack Die, die I”, explaining the intention to buy FTP increase in minimum standard tables from indeterminate day of January 2010 and their reasons have driven this decision. In this installment, I will address the importance of this action and the possible consequences for different stakeholders .
That you paying so much attention to this issue is because it is a fascinating case because, among other things, affecting all levels of industry . It involves players and rooms alike, to balance the game, the strategy, the interests of each other, to earnings, the long-term ecosystem, the flow of players between rooms, etc.. Finally, we are facing an action that can change the future of the game . They have not confirmed or the actual date on which these measures will take effect or if the minimum is 30, 35 or 40 big blinds, which look a decisive influence on the magnitude of change, but whatever the decision is more likely causing a series of chain reactions that end up affecting most venues.
It will be interesting to see which way to follow the rest of rooms . I assume most will remain on the lookout to see what result you get FTP and how it affects them individually. A logical result would be that many of the players full stack is short enough of both FTP and switch to much of the short currently playing there, be divided among the other rooms. Another thing to keep in mind that limits to some extent as the stampede of shorts, is that FTP is one of the few places where you can find tables CAP. These are tables where you can enter any amount, but the closest you can play on each hand is 30bb, or go all in means as much put 30 big blinds on the table, but have a higher stack.
I talk about this kind of tables although they differ in several key aspects of successful short stack strategy (so I will talk about another day) because man is a creature of habit, that is, once you have all the tool set (which is often very tedious and much time is lost until everything works as you like), one has been accustomed to playing in a room that is comfortable, and
as many times comfort means greater profitability, it is difficult to change and must be powerful reasons to start (though basically the prospect of winning more). We’ll see if some shorts and FTP so used to begin to populate these tables or trying to adapt to the new buy-in …
Of the other room, PokerStars, which has the largest number of players and is somewhat FTP direct rival, announced on 23 December a new points system that overall improvement in economic conditions of most and leaves little players 27% rakeback which offers FTP. Another reason for the mobilization of the shorts, whose main principle is in
PS . This is not just for the further improvement of its program announced, but because the room has more similarities with FTP, ie large number of tables at all hours at most levels, a site of the most secure and reliable network, good customer service, great software that lets you play many tables without problems, and so on.
The next scene of the movie will see the reaction from the usual PS to the most likely and imminent wave of shorts FTP and the countermeasures that are prepared to take to please his base full stack of regular players. “Balance the new conditions for the inconvenience caused by the increase in shorts? Will this increase as great as anticipated or just have consequences? Do they know the smaller rooms to think a strategy that allows them to fish in troubled waters and remove these two players? There are many unknowns and assumptions of all time. We will see who supports all this racket, I already have the popcorn ready.
As I discussed in the previous article, a parallel industry that plays an important role in this story are the poker schools, many of which base their strategy on the short stack. Surely,
most are limited to modifying the contents to adapt to increased blinds and the biggest change is that, by increasing the complexity of the game, students may not earn as much, take longer to gain levels, and Therefore, these schools will have less profit, but neither should notárseles much (unless the other rooms that adopt the same measures that would then be a major problem). In fact, EducaPoker teachers have long dominated the mid stack strategy, so students have the same again really interesting material to study in a few months.
To leave the following items has aroused mixed reactions to the announcement (basically for the full stack and against the short stack), the complaints of the types of players involved and why I think that is a decision more accurate. Although not the most important reason is that a good reason,
normally, nobody likes to play against shorts, not even themselves .

SobraoBoY already MuckedBoy and Supernova Elite
We already have the first two Supernova Elite Spanish PokerStars in 2009. Two of the most popular players in the country, they started playing almost at once, have managed this feat, one of them first.
Javier Bowl ‘ MuckedBoy ‘ claimed his first Supernova Elite this past week. The Cantabrian player last year threw the rest in his favorite room (actually in the room that must have played 80% of their hands, but more), to take the honor of being the fourth Spanish history to win the title that HuGaDaS and Vedast ‘ Alphafoil ‘ Sanxis consiguieses last year.

What to strong> Armando Roman ‘ SobraoBoY ‘ is already tremendous. That was the first Spanish in achieving Supernova Elite has succeeded for the third consecutive time, and what is even more awful is that he only needed one million VPPs 550,000 in October, so that the beating was tremendísima.
We know that Armando Roman ‘ SobraoBoY ‘ will leave shortly with friends Tomeu Gomila’ ‘ Amato and Rivichico The Bahamas , we do not know yet is what will MuckedboY to celebrate its new status .
