Styles of play by unknown
This article is what I intend to give a different playing styles. That I is TAG so I went out of fashion. On one hand it is clear that to win, a way has to be selective (you can play higher or lower ranks, but you must select the correct range that you play) and aggressive (can be more or less aggressive, not passive). On the other hand, poker is changing and when you speak of a style we have to add other features like the size of the stack, the type of adaptation, etc.. (As I said this is my personal view, I would give a different view, certainly not therefore optimal.) Hope you like .
In general, poker is based on the decision-making. The situations are repeated, and ultimately the goal is to play better than our rivals to play well to win more than them winning hands and lose less to lose. The relationship between the hands we played and how we play to try to maximize profits, ie the fact line up playing so offsetting the gains go hand in search of better results, leads us directly to discuss the playing styles.
STYLES OF PLAY
A style of play is like a car, no matter how good a car can not expect good results from it if you handle a bad pilot (never mind what happens if we put an F1 car in the mountains), however, a great driver with a car in poor condition can also do wonders. In the same way, no one knows better car than its creator, and the pilot who has created (or tried, modified and optimized) your own car will have much more confidence in him and will know their limits. The latter leads to the ability to understand the results that will have a player. The player who knows his style will know better if this going through a rough patch, if you’re playing bad or if something is conditioning their game. And know when you’re doing things right or wrong is fundamental to something as variable as poker.
Let’s put aside the cars and we will see it is really a style of play. In short we could say that a style of play consists mainly of the predefined conditions before making a decision in one hand, that is, what they’ve influenced, but that takes place before making decisions hand we’re playing. An example is the stack: stack not the same player Shortstack, a Midstack or Fullstack and predefined stack something on hand that determines decisions in one’s hand (we will not play the same way a hand if we 27 blind that if we have 110). Another example would be the ranges preflop. There are players who play a higher percentage of hands preflop by the fact that profitability also get out with those hands and other players decide to not play hands that are unprofitable to buy time for decision and used it, for example, increasing the number of tables playing. As we see, the appearance of a style of play, within a reasonable numbers, can be very variable and different, without influencing whether the style is better or worse. What will determine if one style is better or worse will not be the numbers themselves, but that will be the features that relate to each other.
- Strength: offset style, difficult to operate and able to take advantage styles itself less robust than him, by having better-off between their numbers is a solid style. The strength depends on the compensation of the numbers together (a couple more solid compensation) and that is exploitable in terms of numbers and the risks that (a best numbers, ie numbers away from extremes, it becomes less exploitable and the less risks run too).
- Flexibility: is the scope that has a style without which this ceases to be profitable. The ability to accept changes in yourself is very important when making changes to suit rivals (both to attack your leaks to defend when you see that they are exploiting a feature of your game).
- Performance: this is more complex. While the definition is simple: the return is what you get with a style, the more profitable is more to be gained by him to calculate with the return is not so easy. A style is more or less profitable in terms that have the ability to exploit the interplay of competing and having the ability to prevent the rivals from exploiting it, and in turn, the scope for improvement with both capacities. The profitability depends, therefore, the capacity for improvement and the relationship with other styles, ie the metagame.
Capacity Improvement
The important improvement of the capacity is not what it can improve, but we will get to improve, as will cost to achieve this improvement and when you will be able to keep improving. Solid styles in general are going to be inflexible and will have little capacity for improvement. The styles are very flexible and adaptive capacity for improvement but are more difficult to defend.
Metagame
What makes a good or bad style of play (apart from its own rules, such as strength and flexibility, or capacity improvement) is the relationship and effectiveness that has that style against rival styles. This relationship is developed within the gaming environment, ie in the metagame, which we can say that it depends mainly on two factors: how is the style of the table where we play (room, level, etc.) and how the style of our main rivals (for itself and in relation to ours). Take a familiar example:
An ABC style of play will be profitable in micro-low levels because these levels are pretty bad players and their styles have large leaks in its constitution. For example, those players with a VPIP normal, but nevertheless have a PFR very low, although Fisher said no big are easily exploited as your style has a good trade-off between the VPIP and the PFR .
By pass levels at lower levels will see the ABC is becoming less profitable because rival styles are less and less as uncompensated and discuss them and not too many mistakes, because we earn much less than we earned before. If we go up another level to low-medium levels see how ABC styles here are those who are exploited by other styles can more flexibly adapt to the ranks of ABC and to prevent their strength against them profitable. If we move to higher levels and see how much it complicates matters, we must take advantage of flexible styles without forcing your style and that lose too much strength, because then you could rivals take advantage of you. At this point and have a better style is not easy and it would be when looking for errors that rivals discuss specific situations and these situations to try and increase jugarles most often in situations with a slight advantage for us and that these situations resulting in the minimum possible adverse situations (the latter I mention that you may have only a small insight as to where the shooting range and an overview of all the way ).

Daniel Negreanu is to play his left testicle
This is the way the player with the most money earned in live tournaments in the world has to show his displeasure about the structure of the last event of the World Poker Tour which took place in the Bellagio of Las Vegas .

Daniel Negreanu betting big.
Commenting on the first level said that the structure seemed horrible and having more chips would not mean greater playability, with a smaller size before. The structure of the Bellagio was:
- 50-100
- 100-200
- 100-200 (25)
- 200-400 (25)
While it Daniel Negreanu calls for this:
- 100-200
- 100-200 (25)
- 150-300 (25)
- 200-400 (50)
So, he says the following:
I bet my left testicle that if you get a group of rational people, no one would mistake of blindly jumping Jack [Jack McClelland, tournament director] are better .
Anyway, do not think anyone takes the bet Daniel Negreanu , more than anything else a favor, is that the chances of finding a group of a rational response is probably fairly low.
Meeting of over 2,000 durrrr hands on the Challenge
One of the challenges over time in living memory was a good push towards completion when for about nine hours (discontinuously) were playing Tom Dwan ‘ durrrr ‘ and Patrik Antonius .
2040 were hands played at four tables Pot-Limit Omaha $ 200 / $ 400 ended with a slight advantage for Tom Dwan ‘ durrrr ‘, which stands as $ 779,248 above Patrik Antonius .

And it could have been much worse for Antonius , which became more than half a million down on the session. Just then durrrr I commented:
durrrr: I have a massage in 30 minutes
durrrr can cancel if you want because you want to win and pirarme
durrrr: but if you do not mind too much rather just play after the massage
durrrr: you decide
durrrr: Hello?
Patrik Antonius: cancel it
durrrr: = (
durrrr: ok
It appears that good old Patrik Antonius was something warm (if the bronze statue can be heated). And the challenge continued. 27,185 are hands that are carried, still well short of the 50,000 total, everything could change, though the nearly 20 boxes of advantage of Tom Dwan ‘ durrrr ‘ seem to start to be significant.
By the way, not only we think these levels are insane. Look what was being said in the 7-Game tables between sessions of the challenge:
Ziigmund: durrrrr
durrrr: what happens?
Ziigmund: who won the challenge?
durrrr: I won a little
durrrr: 150 may
John Juanda: yes, you won a Ferrari just
Ziigmund: and the total now?
durrrr: I do not know, look at the FTP site
durrrr: I would say 800
The comment by Juanda (in English says Tom Dwan ‘ durrrr ‘ “I won small” and John Juanda said yeah u won small ferrari ) is too good .
Barry Shulman’s papers lost
Recently we had you for the Executive Director of CardPlayer and father of the November Nine Jeff Shulman , Barry Shulman , poker media monopolized by winning the main event WSOP Europe .
However, this week returns to the limelight but starring in an entirely opposite. According to published a forero of Twoplustwo , coincided with the CEO of CardPlayer the MMT 550 $ the Caesars Poker Room , where he saw action at the executive an unorthodox way.

Barry Shulman seems to be always smiling – photograph CardPlayer
First, as discussed in this forum, Shulman argument with a player who fell eliminated and the defenders had played like this. So, finally answering a player with very bad manners:
“¡ NO, you’re wrong! Believe me, you need not teach me how to play poker. If you think this is the correct way to play, you’re terrible and you have no chance to win a tournament “
However, this was not the only occasion in which the champion of the WSOPE was rude and angry. Subsequently reprimanded a dealer who had cut the deck, to which she refused. Other players who saw action gave reason to the dealer, but not convinced that a Shulman , that taking the deck, cut it off and said that’s what she had done. Given the repeated denials of the croupier, Barry dropped the papers and began to say obscenities and insults, including repeated several times that of “lazy ass”.
An inappropriate behavior for someone with experience at the poker table that has the CEO of Card Player . We’ll see if this is recognized by the player and if so, what makes comments about Barry Shulman . Hopefully this kind of action soon disappear from the tables, and poker to qualify for a quiet game, fun, and practiced by civilized people .

Q

The poker community wants a new season 2M2MM
As I committed last week, the program 2 Months 2 Millions string G4 ended, with the penalty that players have stayed away from getting the challenge.
However, the poker community has declared itself satisfied with the program and look forward to debut new seasons of the program. In pokeril network forums talking about how interesting it has been the program, and that should be repeated, giving a little more prominence poker. Some even offer to train new teams to make it more exciting and something does not become repetitive.
On the Web waiting to return to enjoy the program 2M2MM
Above all, as most agree on is that Members should consider changing to team players or new entrants, especially to remove any of those defined as “dull”, like that of
Emil Patel ‘whitelime’.
In addition sound and potential candidates for replacements or new players to complete the team that this first season have formed
Brian Roberts , Jay Rosenkrantz , Dani Stern and Emil Patel . These names futures are already aperecieron two players in one of the chapters in this first edition: Aaron Jones ‘aejones’ Andrew Lichtenberger ‘ luckychewy’>. Precisely the latter starred in one of the funniest scenes of the program, when he convinced a girl to take off her panties to give away.
Anyway, from
G4 not yet confirmed anything about whether there will be a new season of the show or not, but let’s hope so and that the next edition can enjoy poker and more fun in this online poker entertaining show.
Michael O ‘Sullivan wins Irish Winter Festival
The PaddyPowerPoker Irish Winter Festival , which was held from 23 to 26 October has come to an end, naming the player winning Irish Michael O ‘Sullivan .
Unfortunately, our only representative Paco Torres ‘The Euro Rail eliminated’, left out of awards, he fell in the 46 th position, while only forty players charged. A real shame, because the player Poker770 was very close to being able to take a pinch of this tournament.

Michael O ‘Sullivan at the EPT Dublin 2005
Michael O ‘Sullivan has as its previous best result in the eighth place he got in the EPT Dublin 2005 . After this has not been notable successes, even this first award has meant an increase in 143.000 € on your bench.
The last three players who faced were three players, O ‘Sullivan , Michael Murphy and Gary Mealy . Namesake Precisely the two clashed at the final table until the Q7 of Murphy lost pair of queens against the champion, despite the 7 that appeared in the table.
So again an Irishman gets the title, and a shame that our representative has not gone further. Hopefully next year you better.
The list of winners was:
Michael O’Sullivan – 143,000 €
Michael Murphy – 88,500 €
Gary Mealy – 55.300 €
